- Since when did any of us deem ourselves the all mighty to judge how people choose to fangirl?
- Since when was it a bad thing to be almost obsessive about a group when it never affected anybody else?
- Since when was it a bad thing that while being a 'news' machine that everyone went to for the latest shenanigans of that particular group, you also blogged alongside all your fangirl dreams and visions?
- Since when was it a bad thing to be an older fan, who can afford to spend more time, money, effort etc being a fan girl unlike the fickle young upstarts who contribute little to the fandom other than whining?
- Since when were any of us qualified to judge another's way of life when we ourselves are barely out of diapers and have no experience in life whatsoever?
I'm disgusted by the behaviour a minority who have no appreciation for anyone but their own egos these days and are making life a misery in every single fandom I have come across. I thought it couldn't get worse than the silent bullying and isolation that takes place already, but the events of yesterday/today are so unbelievable I think pigs might start flying tomorrow!
I'm not a saint, of course there are groups I dislike and I can be cutting about - that's human nature; and of course, when a particular group of fans annoys the hell out of you, you will comment on them. But to attack a long standing and respected fan so openly in public, where the person can find out, when they have done NOTHING to you - that's absolutely outrageous and uncalled for.
Given it's just for minority's sense of self importance then I have only this to say:
"You are youth of today that my profession has to see charged in the Criminal Courts for minor offences that will blight your future when you do finally get into the real world because you have no conscience and no understanding of what life is really about. You are the youth of today who wear ASBO's like badges of honour because you think it's 'cool' and a mark of maturity"
For this reason I pity this minority's parents for having such ill mannered and spineless children who so completely lack any confidence in themselves that they need to attack others.
Do we not already suffer enough unwarranted governance in real life, i.e. 'Anti-terror' laws? Clearly not according to the gimps who started up those 'hate lists' and made them personal. To attack an image created by people who make money out of you is one thing. To attack a real person who has nothing to do with you, is quite another.
Above all, I'm sorry I've had to witness this particular incident because it is the beginning of the end for the care free way fandom currently runs.
